THE CASE

The first 1,000 days are an opportunity Australia cannot afford to overlook.

What happens from pregnancy through the first two years of a child’s life can shape health, development, learning and wellbeing for decades to come.

Supporting families well during this period improves lives now while contributing to healthier future generations and stronger long-term social and economic outcomes.

THE FRAMEWORK

The Framework helps move the conversation from responding to problems later to strengthening the systems around families earlier.

It provides government and other decision-makers with an evidence-informed direction for creating more connected, timely and effective support.

SEED acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work and live. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
