Bernadette Black AM
Founder + Chief Executive Officer
Bernadette Black AM is the Founder and CEO of SEED Futures and a long-standing advocate for strengthening the systems around families.
Her work began with her own experience of becoming a mother at 16 and later founding Brave Foundation, which grew into a national organisation supporting expecting and parenting young people.
Through that work, Bernadette saw the opportunity to take family experience further using what families encounter every day to help inform the systems and decisions around them.
Today, through SEED Futures, she works across family experience, government and evidence to translate what families are experiencing into practical priorities for systemic change, with an initial focus on the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.
Our Board
Governance for long-term change.
The SEED Futures Board brings experience across government, social policy, finance, investment, systems change and the community sector to steward our purpose and strengthen our capacity to create lasting value for families and Australia.
Together, our Board supports SEED Futures to remain focused on its role: listening to family experience, translating what it reveals about the system and helping government identify clear, credible and practical priorities for action.
